He sounds like Deborah's Punce. Kitty is an orange tabbly, about a year
old and full of mischief. He lives up to his name but was beginning to
look a bit plumper when I left than when I came (no, I didn't feed him
any extra food).

Squeaks (the other house cat was somewhat shyer, usually hid herself
away but really enjoyed her morning games of "chase my brother". She
warmed up to us but didn't quite take the full step of being a lap cat.
O'Malley is the garage cat. He's a beautiful black one that adopted
Deborah but she can't keep him inside as he's FIV positive. Shame, but
he deals with it and gets hs love when people are coming or going.

You will appreciate the sun screen. We got our first one in TX, about 20
years ago and have kept one ever since. Steve even put it up about 7:15
tonight when we got to the restaurant in Durham where we went to
celebrate my (day late) birtheday. German place, not quite up to snuff
on some things but great job on others. We're thinking of checking out
the lunch menu after my appointment in Chapel Hill next Friday.

And you don't want to do it too early so as not to incur the wrath of
the neighborhood.

I saw that; congratulations. Now you will have the fun of juggling it
and your studies--just don't try taking food orders in class unless you
