Hi Hap,

No surprise but it would be nice if Anne felt well enough to make a trip
to California.

Nice to have those times. I've tried to pull Steve out of his books for
a day trip out of the area at least once a semester. It worked th first
semester but not the subsequent 3. Maybe this upcoming one will be more
successful. We visited an outlet mall an hour or so away, hit up a
kitchenware store or two and got me some sweaters.

Canning tomatoes is dead easy. Scald, core and slip skins. Stuff into a
jar, leave half an inch of headspace. Cap, process in pressure cooker (5
pounds of pressure) for 10 minutes. A teaspoon of salt per quart can be
added but not necessary.

-> No, nothing can be as bland as unseasoned tofu.

Unseasoned breast meat. OTOH, seasoned is good.

And by then, hopefully all the nasty cells will be deader'n dead. Nice
thing about radiation--Anne can lie down (and maybe even take a short
nap) on the table while being treated. She'll also become a tatooed
lady. (G)

Don't think it was karma but those workers have so much patience and
concern for their patients. They put up with a lot of flack but don't
let it show. It's the sweet folks that more than make up for the tigers
that make their job rewarding.

-> Win some, lose some. We're going to a Carolina Mudcats (Class AA) game
-> tonight with some friends. Should be fun; they're bringing their 3 year

They had peanuts; have to ask the family we went with if they were
boiled or not. Seemed to be roasted, hard shelled. Steve & I split a bag
of Cracker Jacks (Have they ever cheapened out on the prizes!) and a
soft pretzel with very little salt. It was Thirsty Thursday so all soft
drinks were $1.00, alcoholic ones were $2.00/ Got to see Muddy the
Mudcat up colose; had seats right by the home dugout. Mudcats played the
Montgomery Biscuits, lost 6-4 but had a few good plays.
