The context of the conversation having been pasta, you can take
a guess. It's not an availability issue but rather an avoidance
of starch and/or caloric content issue.

In my experience, dogs, including or perhaps especially big bad
breeds such as bull terriers, shepherds, dobies, and rotties,
take on the personality of their owners.

Cholesterol doesn't seem to be of that great importance in the
causative sense. The buildup in the arteries does have a lot of
cholesterol in it, but it's mostly macrophages. One doesn't try
to reduce the macrophage content in one's blood, does one?

So shoot 'em all and leave the too-little ones, or bring them
back to the processor for veal. Not that I hate kangaroos, just
that if they're vermin, treat them like vermin.

Sistah Goddess Slammin' Nut Pate
cat: snack, vegan, nuts
yield: 1 batch

1/2 c sunflower seeds, soaked for a couple of hours or overnight
1/2 c walnuts (do not soak)
1 pn garlic powder
Eden Shake (available from Whole Foods - Japanese food section)
1 pn sea salt or noma shoyu
1 ts lemon juice or more...
sprinkle of paprika
sprinkle of creole seasoning
sprinkle of basil and any other spice you like
- i.e. cayenne, oregano, etc.
1/4 c finely minced purple onion
1/4 c finely minced carrot
1/4 c finely minced celery

Combine the seeds and walnuts with spices, noma shoyu or
salt, and lemon juice. Process on high until you have a
nut mixture that has the consistency of pate (or looks
like tuna salad). Place the nut base in a big mixing bowl
with enough room to add additional ingredients. Next, add
the minced veggies to the nut base. (The raw onion can be
strong so you may want to use less.) With your clean hands
knead the veggies into the nut base. (PLEASE NOTE: The big
rule for fixing living raw food is hygiene - you must wash
your hands well before and during meal prep because you
are not cooking away any bacteria that is picked up along
the way. Do not use a cutting board you have used to prep
meat to prep raw veggies.) You will see this turns into a
salad quickly. Add more spices to taste. You can add Eden
shake and some dulse flakes (a seaweed) to make it taste
more like a veggie tuna salad. Adding liquid smoke (just
a dash) makes it taste like burgers. You could also add
sun dried tomatoes and olives with Italian spices for
another take on the recipe. Be creative! Recipe from
