Agreed, wholeheartedly. Which is not to say that when younger I never
disrespected the neighbours right to peace and quiet.

Last year that wouldn't have taken much. There were times at an echo picnic
when I have imbibed as much with dinner as I did in all of last year. Wasn't
planned that way ... just how it worked out.

I was in the company van making my delivery rounds on a fairly tight schedule
and I go north on Route 2 until it ends ... so, it was convenient to hit the
drive-thru for a couple McDoubles and a large lemonade. That's a long route
anyway - 6 hours round trip.

I'm am down to do the same route this morning - but, since our first blast of
Ol' Man Winter is arriving in force today (already a wide band of snow across
about half of the route) the company may call it off. And, if not, it will
likely take a couple extra hours due to more tentative than normal driving
practices.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

      Title: Dolmathes - Stuffed Grape Leaves
 Categories: Rice, Vegetables, Nuts, Citrus
      Yield: 4 servings

  1 1/2 lb Onions
      1 c  Olive oil
  1 3/4 c  Rice
    1/2 c  Parsley
      2 tb Dill
    1/2 ts Mint
      2    Lemons; juiced
      2 tb Pine nuts
      1    Jar grape leaves
           Garnish: lemon wedges

  From J.R. Brimmer III

  Sauté onions in olive oil.

  Add rice & brown lightly.

  Cook rice according to directions with half the lemon
  juice. Add dill, mint, parsley, & pine nuts.

  Rinse grape leaves in cold water. Remove stems and place 1
  tablespoon of rice mixture on dull side folding in sides &
  rolling up leaves.
  
  Put in 10x13 pan, open end down. Cover with remaining oil,
  lemon juice and enough water to cover at least 1/2 the
  dolmathes. Cover with aluminum foil & place in a
  375øF/190øC oven for 45 minutes.
  
  When cool stack on a plate, cover with plastic wrap and
  refrigerate for 1 day.

  Serve with lemon wedges.

  Comment from JRB: This recipe is similar to the cold
  Dolmathes served at the Parthenon Restaurant in Chicago.
  There are 2 varieties, hot and cold. I prefer the cold
  version.
