Don't be so quick to rush to judgement. In a hundred years it won't matter
anyway.

AND -- A representative from Novartis contacted the Huffington Post with the
following statement from the drug manufacturer:

"The rumors that Novartis has signed a multi-million dollar spokesperson deal
with Paula Deen for a Diabetes treatment are not true. Novartis is not working
with Ms. Deen."

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

      Title: Deep Fried Butter
 Categories: Snacks, Cheese, Appetisers
      Yield: 6 servings

    1/2 c  Butter (118 ml)
      3 tb Cream cheese (44.4 ml)
    1/2 ts Black pepper (2.5 ml)
      1 c  Flour (237 ml)
      3 tb Powdered sugar  (44.4 ml)
      1 tb Cornstarch (14.8 ml)
      1 c  Chilled club soda; + up to
           - 1/4 C more if batter is
           - too thick (237 ml+60 ml)
  3 1/2 c  Peanut oil (828 ml)

  The State Fair of Texas, the same people who brought you
  Fried Cookie Dough, Deep-Fried Twinkies, Deep Fried Oreos,
  Fried Coke and Chicken Fried Bacon, now brings you Deep
  Fried Butter. 

  Method for butter center: Cream butter, cream cheese and
  black pepper together with an electric mixer until smooth.

  Using a melon baller, form 1" (25.4mm) balls of butter
  mixture and arrange them on a parchment-lined sheet pan.

  Freeze until solid, at least two hours.

  Method for batter: In a large bowl, combine dry
  ingredients.

  Fold chilled club soda into dry mixture.

  Note: Do not over mix; batter will be slightly lumpy and
  thick.

  Heat 3 1/2 cups (828 ml) peanut oil in a large frying pan
  over medium-high heat, to 350øF/175øC.

  Working with frozen butterballs, skewer frozen balls one
  at a time and dip in batter.

  Place battered butterball in hot oil and remove skewer,
  using a second skewer to dislodge.

  Fry for 30 to 45 seconds and turn with slotted spoon.
  Allow battered butter to fry for an additional 30 to 45
  seconds or until lightly browned.

  Remove fried butterballs from oil with slotted spoon and
  cool on a rack for at least 1 minute.

  Note: To make the wait bearable, sing the "Eyes of
  Texas."

  Skewer and eat, Texas State-Fair style.

  Careful: contents of fried butter will remain hot.
