If they have iridescent feathers they may, indeed, be grackles. If they are
mostly black they are probably common starlings. Both are passerines native to
North and South America.

They claim that birds do not control their cloaca and just dump their "load"
when and wherever. I had had a flock of small(ish) black birds startled from a
harvested corn field do a "time on target" of the windscreen on the van I was
driving - more than once. Given the number of birds in the flock a spot or two
could be chalked up to randomness. But 15 or more splats on the windshield
alone ... that had to be coordinated somehow. Or so it seems to me.

I agree with Gail - those sorts of buzzards are avian terrorists and thugs. The
aerial equivalent of a street gang.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

      Title: Gang Keao Wan Gai *
 Categories: Poultry, Oriental, Curry, Chilies, Herbs
      Yield: 6 servings

  1 1/2 c  Unsweetened coconut milk
  1 1/2 tb Green curry paste
  2 1/2 lb Boneless chicken; in 1"
           - strips
      1 c  Sliced bamboo shoots
    1/4 c  Fish sauce
      1 tb Sugar
      1 sm Bunch mint leaves; chopped

    1/4 c  Oriental basil leaves
      2    Fresh green chilies; seeded,
           - thin sliced diagonally

  * chicken in green curry
 
  In a large saucepan, heat 1/4 cup of coconut milk with the
  green curry paste. Stir until it is well blended and a
  thin coat of oil appears on the surface.

  Add the chicken and continue cooking over medium heat for
  5 minutes, stirring constantly. Stir in the remaining
  coconut milk and the bamboo shoots, fish sauce, and sugar.

  Cover and simmer for 8-10 minutes, or until chicken is
  cooked.

  Remove cover and stir in mint leaves and chile peppers.
  Cook, stirring for 3-5 minutes.

  Serve with rice.
