Yep, in fact Anne and I will be having
breakfast this weekend with an old 
navy shipmate of mine. Have not seen
him in 30 years or so!

My folks are from Tennessee, so I grew
up eating peanut butter and banana 
sandwiches...but not with mayo..
sometimes with jelly though!

-> I think you would have liked these grits--very cheesy and lots of bacon
-> in them as well. Just a touch of heat to the dish--enough to let you
-> know it was there but not enough (IMO) to be too overpowering. It maybe
-> could have used just a touch more. If Anne were a shrimp eater, she
-> probably would have thought it was too hot; you might have kicked up the
-> heat and enjoyed the dish.

I'm not the biggest fan of grits.
My dad had the same opinion of them
that Dirty Dave holds..so we never
had them when I was growing up. First
time I DID have them was in a restaurant
that served ham and red eye gravy for
breakfast wit three eggs and grits.
I love me some ham and red eye gravy
so I put up with the grits!
