I will keep my eye peeled and the next time I want to splurge on carbs,
I will check them out. Just the fact they have something other than
potato/cheese or potato/onion is a plus over Mrs. T's which I really
don't down and I don't mind them. Just not like, shall we say real? ones
<grin> Like a lot of processed foods they are just a bit off. St.
Stanislaus? Hmmm that veries a bit, usually in the Summer months but
moveable. Not around the Greek Festival or Lilac Festival, a bit later
on in the warmer weather.. Let me go check the web a minute... It's on
Friday August 3rd and Saturday Aug. 4th  Here is a snip from web page..

    Polish Dinners:

    Golabki (stuffed cabbage rolls), Pierogi, Polish Sausage &
    Sauerkraut - Take outs available

    Friday, 5:00 - 8:00 pm


    Saturday, 4:00 - 8:00 pm

    Other Foods Available :

    Potato Pancakes, Hots & Hamburgers, Italian Sausage, Salt potatoes,
    Soft Drinks and Beer

    Potato-cheese pierogi will be sold frozen by the dozen during the
    Festival

Yeah the whole grain stuff with the natural fiber makes absorption a lot
slower and a a lot does not get absorbed. The wraps I use are a tad bit
on the gritty side. But better than not eating a wrap at all. One
version does taste pretty much like a tortilla, so it makes good tacos.
And there is not grittyness to that one, but to keep the carbs down it
is pretty small.

 I am not a saccahrine lover myself, but it is taste. and it is
 interesting as it goes right along with what we are talking about. You
 don't like the aftertaste in the new sweeteners, that is where I am
 lucky or blessed ( only in my head as they say more and more those
 sweetners are not good for you ) as I taste a difference, but no bad
 aftertaste just a different kind of sweet. I am lucky there as I
 remember some of the pops with saccharine and cyclamates and dislike
 them due to aftertastes.

 If I got a migraine, I would not want to touch them either. Soy could
 be a problem, as I tolerate soy, but don't particularly like the
 aftertaste. That is why when I found that new baking mix we had once
 talked about, I could make stuff with that flour and stomach it much
 better than a soy based flour that is lower in carbs. So You are right,
 soy might be a variable I had not thought of.
