They're nice but I saw a prototype of something even better on the Kim
Kommando web site a few weeks ago.  The whole stove top is one big hot
spot but only the area under a pot/pan gets hot.  Even then it's
confined to the size of the pot, unlike the stoves out now where you
have to match the pot to the spot closest to it in size.

Sounds like you may have had some ideas in the back of your mind as you
were redoing after the fire.  This place is, as our last 2 were, total
electric.  Of course the housing didn't have heat in HI--but we were
glad we had our little ones we'd brought from AZ.  Winter mornings in
central Oahu could be a bit chilly.  Time for a cuppa tea, once you got
yourself out of the blankets and down to the kitchen.  Those linoleum
floors were cold!

I've not had the time lately either but after moving around so much,
I've developed a few ideas I'd like to see in a kitchen.  A big
dishwasher is another thing that would go into the kitchen of my dreams,
as well as a nice sized walk in pantry.  I'll just keep dreaming tho,
it's probably as close as I'll ever get to the real thing. (G)
