Unfortunately, that's why it is called "practice."

If it were type one, it would be advisable. Since it is type two, and
since she is using a long-acting form, a pump probably would not work.
Her injections are only once a day. Hopefully, that is where they will
remain. Her morning readings are in the 90s to low 100s now. It sure
beats what they were.

Yes. These "learning experiences" can be quite rough though.

I fixed the yield on this recipe. It originally said 1 serving. I would
have to put this in Gourmet and let it calculate the carbs per serving
before making it to be sure it would be okay for Ruth. While it claims
to be diabetic, Orange juice is not very diabetic friendly. I'm not sure
about Grapefruit juice. We would also likely substitute 3 packets of
Stevia for the sugar. I would go for having walnuts in it but Ruth would
not.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.04

      Title: Sunny Citrus Cubes
 Categories: Diabetic, Desserts, Candies
      Yield: 16 Servings

      4 tb Unflavoured gelatine
    3/4 c  Unsweetened grapefruit
           -juice
      2 c  Unsweetened orange juice,
           -boiling
      1 ts Orange extract
      2 tb Sugar
    1/4 c  Walnuts, chopped
           -(optional)

  Soften gelatine in grapefruit juice.  Add orange juice, orange
  extract and sugar.  Stir until dissolved.  Pour into 8" square pan.
  Chill until partially set.  Sprinkle with walnuts if you wish. Tield:
  16 pieces, 2 inch x 2 inch

  1 serving without nuts contains 24 Calories - 1/2 fruit and vegetable
  choice. 1 serving with nuts contains 33 Calories - 1/2 fruit and
  vegetable choice 1/2 fats and oils choice.
