I don't often think of cancer that way in terms of starving you, but it is very
true.

Lol.. that is so much like our lola :)  Maybe it's related to the calico? hehe

Good rule though mine were always traveling all over the counters at least, in
Windsor.. now over here in Slaterville Springs, it seems the kitties still
haven't started hanging about the kitchen much as much as they used to. I
figure they're still working out escape routes from the dogs.. (grin).

Good news today though... Lola's brother Leo, our yellow long hair that looks
like a Maine Coon Cat, was finally trapped in Windsor in one of those "humane"
cages by our neighbor.  I'm so relieved.. I didn't want to think about him out
their with no one.  Hopefully we'll get him here in Slaterville Springs today.

True for baking I think.. I did try it in coffee and that wasn't so good though

That or maybe you should drink more water?  or eat a few bananas to help with
potassium levels.

====Orange and Onion Salad========

3 large or 4 small navel oranges
2 large purple onions or 3 small purple onions 2 Tablespoons pignola nuts
2 Tablespoons Balsamic vinegar
1/2 cup olive oil
3/4 cup fresh basil leaves
1 medium turnip, unpeeled, and cut into very fine julienne strips 1/2 teaspoon
grated zest of orange
black pepper

Grate the zest from one of the oranges.  Put in the bottom of wide salad bowl.
Slice the oranges 1/4-3/8" thick.  Remove the seeds.

Squeeze the juice from end slices into the bowl.  Peel the slices, leaving no
white pulp.

Lay slices in the bowl.  Peel onions and slice thinly, pull apart into rings
and place in bowl.

Place turnip strips in bowl.

Whisk oil and vinegar together with some freshly grated black pepper and pour
over the oranges, onions and turnip strips.  Toss gently to coat all fruit and
vegetables.  Marinate for 1/2 hour.

Heat one teaspoon of oil in skillet.  Brown pine nuts in oil until lightly
browned (medium tan color).  Chop basil coarsely and add the basil to the pine
nuts.  Set the pine nuts and basil aside until you are ready to serve the
salad.  Before serving, toss the pine nuts and basil gently in the orange and
onion salad.
