Well, lets not be too hasty..there's something
to be said for playing the spoiler role as well.
Happily we've managed to do that a number
of times, and sadly we've had it done to us
as well.

The Minolta 7000, was a game changing
autofocus camera put out in the mid
80's. It put autofocus technology into
a camera affordable to amateurs and 
thereby revolutionized the industry.
Fairly well made and featured, it added
computer chips to the camera to help
control camera functions. Early
(below is cut and pasted from

 Maxxum 7000 cameras were inscribed
 "MAXXUM 7000" with a crossed 'XX'. 
The oil company Exxon considered this
 a violation of their trademark, as
 the XX in their logo was linked in a
 similar fashion. As a result, Minolta
 was allowed to distribute cameras already
 produced, but was forced to change
 the stylistic XX in Maxxum and implement
 this as a change in new production.
 All Maxxum cameras to this day have 
had regularly scripted 'X'.

Currently the water has been 
restored! At least in the kitchen
and the new toilet gets put back
in place each night (thank goodness!)
so we are doing better. Hopefully from
this point onward progress will be more 
rapid...plumbing is as time consuming
as it is onerous! When we wrote the
contract, I included a $200/day penalty
for going beyond our time limit, so
hopefully that will keep them working
at a steady pace!
