Yes, and by going thru this with our parents, we're realising what we
will have to have in place as we age. If we ever buy a house & it's
multi story, lifts will be put in. There will also be at least one ramp
installed, grab bars in appropriate places, kitchen safety precautions,
etc, etc.

Talked to Mom earlier tonight--she's going home tomorrow. Still not
walking much/well but I guess enough adaptions have been put in place to
make it safe for her.

It would be much better to let this woman work on her own. It's a
smallish kitchen. Talking with Dad a few minutes ago, he said that Mom
will not do any cooking: I think he intends to try it. If that does't
work, then this woman will be able to step right in.

Sounds logical. Now that Mom is going home, I hope her eating habits
don't revert back to what they were before she went in.

Had the pre op appointment today; except for being told to be there half
an hour before time (and being early for that), then not being taken in
until 10 minutes after the appointment time, all went well.

Sure do! We met 40 years ago this past January, will celebrate our
37th anniversary next month. Too hard to break in a new model so I will
keep the current one. (G)
