Hi Hap,

Sort of like HI but about 20 degrees cooler? A bit less rain too.

Helps for a bit but not that useful in the long run.

Same as we'd like to get further west, but it's a hard decision with
aging parents on the east coast. BTW, my mom's diabetes is doing better,
now that she's not doing the cooking. I think the visiting nurse is
making her practice portion control too, something she ignored before.

-> Agreed there. We baked up that big ham we had in the freezer on Monday
-> (a cold, wet day, good for running the oven for several hours). It was
-> just as good as the one we got last year, and now takes up less room in
-> the freezer. Since we sliced and repackaged it all Monday night, I went
-> ahead Tuesday & made pea soup out of the bone and scraps. Got 3 quarts
-> of that in the freezer, plus more was good eating during the week.

Sounds like a good one for a cold, wet day. We've got some stew beef in
the freezer that will probably be pulled out soon and cooked up. A stew
with lots of (low carb) veggies. If we need the carbs I can serve it
over rice or cook some pasta or similar.
