I did a small amount of digging and discovered that there
were in the period I mentioned earlier 8 foreclosures in
Vermont, where, as with New Hampshire, the economic attitudes
are similarly conservative to the Canadian.

I have heard this claim elsewhere, though I am not sure what
the basis is.

I think he's conflating Papa John and Papa Gino, Little Caesar,
and Domino's. Though I am talking about stuff I have only
modest knowledge of.

Anchovies and olives are a pretty standard pairing, though.

Don't be silly, just substitute in any meat recipe.

Tiramisu
cat: dessert, Singapore, Italy, booze

240 ml cold espresso coffee
150 ml kahlua
350 g mascarpone cheese
3 Tb caster sugar
360 ml cream
24 sponge fingers
cocoa powder

Mix the coffee and kahlua in a shallow, wide
bowl and set aside.

Put the mascarpone and sugar in a bowl and beat
until the sugar dissolves, 1-2 min. Whip the cream
in another bowl, then fold it into the mascarpone
mixture. Put a few spoonfuls of the mascarpone
mixture in the bottom of a serving dish such that
it covers the base.

Dip and turn 1 sponge finger in the coffee mixture
until just soaked, then place it on top of the
mascarpone in the dish. Repeat with more sponge
fingers until the whole base is covered with the
sponge fingers placed side by side. Smear another
layer of mascarpone on top of the first layer, and
make a second layer with the same steps.

Top with the remaining mascarpone and smooth the
surface. Cover the dish with cling film and
refrigerate at least 4 hr.

Before serving, sprinkle the top with cocoa powder.
