SH>> It was Moose Tracks ice cream, of which one of the ingredients was
SH>> chopped-up peanut butter cups. We did not see the peanut butter as it
SH>> was hidden by the other ingredients. It was definitely present.
NB>> Ah. Do you remember the brand? Most recently, we had a Perry's
NB>> cherry version of a similar nature, but they call them Panda Paws, and
NB>> the cups are wee miniatures... like the Turkey Hill Stuff'd version
NB>> which used tiny pb cups along with the supposedly authentic Moose
 NB>> Tracks fudge...

SH> I think Ruth already responded with a brand. I thought it was Perry's,
 SH> but I think Ruth said Hershey's.

She's probably right... I thing that Perry's has a similar version but
calls it Panda Paws. Turkey Hill was apparently using the name and
fudge by license from Hershey's...

SH>> My first attempt at this did not turn out as good as it should have as
SH>> I was trying to use up some Mexican chocolate, and the texture was not
SH>> right. It was too solid to scoop without significant softening first.
SH>> Title: Stevia Chocolate Ice Cream
NB>> I guess it makes a difference how (and how well) something melts and
 NB>> how soft it is...

SH> Plus the real sugar content does affect the freezing point much more
SH> so than stevia. It was good softened a bit in the microwave and then
SH> stirred to the consistency of soft-serve.

I guess now you know... ;)

NB>> By the way, this was the end of the message, no Origin line or any
NB>> such at the bottom... and I noticed that parts of the recipes seemed
NB>> to be cut off as well for the other two messages from you in the
NB>> same packet. Ruth's had all the usual info after the message...

 SH> Strange...
SH> We use essentially the same setup. I had pasted text files exported
SH> from Gourmet and then resaved with a Linux text editor (Leafpad) to
SH> change the Linux method of just CR to CR/LF as DOS does things. It may
SH> be that the end of the file may have had something that did not show up
SH> when I imported them into the messages but which affected the way they
 SH> transferred.
SH> (later edit) I saw where the three dashes that Gourmet added as
SH> separators to set off the words Ingredients and Instructions were
SH> probably to blame for the problem. I'll have to see if I can change
SH> that export format to eliminate them.

Or it may just have been a curious glitch. As you may have read in my
message to Mark Lewis, the cutoffs for that packet's three messages from
you were at odd points, not at tearline-like dash points... and I
noticed now on looking back at that day's packets that it only happened
in the one packet... and only to your messages... It's probably safer
to avoid using dashes and dots that software might misinterpret,
though... :)

SH> Let's see if this one works. I deleted the offending dashes.

Yup, no problems this time... whether or not it was the dashes... :)

... Something is wrong....this thing is working fine!
