Hi Nancy,

RH> Steve and I both see our primary care doctor tomorrow. We'll take
RH> advantage of beingg in Raleigh to do some other shopping as well.
RH> Don't know if he will want to go to Comp USA or not but plan to go to
RH> Whole Foods, maybe Jo-Ann's, the halel butcher shop part of the Middle
 RH> Eastern store.................

NB> That makes sense. You can get stuff that normally would be a major
NB> trip, as part of a necessary trip... :)

We usually end up with some non neccerrary stuff too. (G) Didn't do
quite the amount of run around we thought we would but got all we needed
to do, done.

RH> Other than that, I might go out one day
RH> with a friend who wants to get spices and maybe get together with her &
RH> her husband for supper & a movie later this week. Pretty quiet week so
RH> far--I hemmed a pair of slacks for Steve today. They're a dark
RH> navy/black and had brown buttons on them that I changed out for black.

NB> So far Feb looks pretty quiet for me, though I do plan to schedule
NB> lunch dates with friends... I've managed to get caught up with Fido,
 NB> and to
NB> pretty much stay caught up, which is nice... :)

We had a major change in plans kick in Sunday night. Did get another
pair of trousers (for a suit) hemmed on Wednesday, a bit faster than I'd
intended to do it.

NB> RH>> I'm taking a break from basting waste canvas on a Double wedding
NB> RH>> Ring quilt--some of the inner circles will have things like our
NB> RH>> initials, wedding date, etc stitched in them. The waste canvas
NB> RH>> lets me do a neater job of the stitching.
 NB> NB>> That sounds like a nice project. :)

RH> A keep me warm one! I've got everything but the cross with intertwined
RH> rings charted out now so will probably start stitching tomorrow. After
RH> I get that done, I'll sew the binding on (have to finish that by hand)
RH> so it'll keep me busy for a while.

 NB> I guess. :) Hopefully you'll get it done before you won't want a
NB> keep you warm project any more... ;)

If I work on it just about every day for an hour or so, it should be
done relatively fast. The thing is, is dedicating the time to it each
day may not always be possible, as in our current circumstances.

NB> different place, lo and behold NB>> there they were again. They
NB> turned that one over after a while... and NB>> the next thing I knew,
NB> they'd gone back to the original location... NB>> where they still

RH> Sounds like they had some interesting experiences along the way. Have
RH> you ever talked with them about the restaurant hopping? Was it an all
RH> in the family type thing or were the other places not owned by this
 RH> family?

NB> I asked her about it when I found her at the second location... She
NB> and her husband (the cook) had gotten wearied at their original
 NB> location,
NB> and I think she said that they sold that one to non-family... And
NB> then, after a while, they decided that they missed the business after
NB> all, and the location at the second place opened up, so they jumped at
NB> it. They may have had some sort of partnership at the second place,
 NB> and left it
NB> to them. When they moved back to the original location, it was a
NB> family thing, with the son also involved... I think that the people
 NB> they sold
NB> that one to got tired of it, and just sold it back to them. There was
NB> a "letter to our customers" posted in the vestibule of the restaurant
NB> after they moved back telling how happy they were to be back where
NB> people looked for them, or something like that... Really good food,
NB> and very pleasant people... That's where one friend of mine and I
NB> always go for lunch when we have our lunch dates...

What goes around, comes around, and in this case ended up for the good.

RH> I made a meat loaf for supper tonight, baked a couple of sweet
RH> potatoes for Steve at the same time. It was just cool enough in the
RH> house that running the oven warmed up the kitchen nicely.

NB> One of the nice things about winter... enjoying the heat of the oven.
 NB> :)

Yep! Baking bread is another good way to warm the house.

Catch you later,
Ruth
