It's not so much the peppery (one can always scrape off pepper)
but the salt and dehydrated onion in the Outback version that
I don't like. Also, most of the rubs have a sour aspect that I
guess must be an attempt to make more zing without adding too
much sodium - this is not my favorite either. I have been told
that I would like the Outback offerings better if I told them
to hold the seasoning.

I forgot to add that it's a completely trimmed 6-oz shell
sirloin piece cut from I believe the same place as the
baseball sirloin from the Keg. Except on Wednesdays, when
you get the same deal, except the steak is 8 oz.

The last time I had it, the first cup (served as an appetizer)
was quite spicy and good; the second one (served as a dinner
side) was much milder; the color was lighter as well. I wonder
if I wasn't served the bottom of one batch and the top of
another. One not so great thing about the chili, aside from
the beans, is that one can - just barely - taste the commercial
beef base they use to kick it up a notch.
