Your parents, probably your mom, set up your medical care. Just about
everything else except probably school and church you were on your own
for. Helped to make friends fast; nice thing about living on post,
everybody had the common denominator of being military. Our churches
were a mix of military and local folks; we didn't get into the chapel
program as a family but Steve did when overseas by himself.

I learned to pack tight moving back & forth to college. My youngest
sister never did learn that. She had the car full and also the car top
carrier (a long box Dad made for holding camping equipment for a family
of 7). My packing skills have come in handy many times. Same as being
able to cook with a minimal kitchen. (G)

I stayed in one area (small trips) for 18 years, then started moving
around. Really started moving around 12 years later and did that for 26
years. People learned to write our address & phone in pencil into their
address books.

Have you ever had the real thing, was it based on a recipe or did you
just "wing it"? We've done all of the above.
