Unfortunately, while Ibuprofen might work better, it is on the forbidden
list for a year. It can interfere with the bone healing process. I can't
take any NSAID drugs. Just as well. Long term use of them has had some
rather unpleasant side-effects in the past. Both pyroxicam and meloxicam
have given me a mouth full of chancre sores after taking for a month. I
haven't had that with Ibuprofen but I have not taken it long-term
either. I would not want to give it a chance. My brother had bleeding
ulcers from it so I am leery of taking it for more than a short burst.

I'm not sure the doctor would want heat at this point. There is
inflamation that needs to decrease. Ice is in the instructions, and I
have used an ice pack some. I have been told that heat would aggrevate
the inflamation, so I had best avoid that for now.

Yes. It took Ruth a while to feel comfortable after her wrist surgery.
