Multi-mail came with a shi^H^H^Hbig bunch of arcane Star Drek tags and Rock &
Roll reference tags. I have been killing the really obscure things as they are
presented by the randomiser and substituting stuff I enter as I find it. I did
a whole bunch of food-related quotes I found on a web-site - and if this
software would permit multi-line tags I'd have a lot more of them.  Bv)=

I just snagged a couple cookbooks off the a.b.m.cooking newsgroup - as I told
Glen - which were PDF-ed as part of the Gutenberg Project. The 1918 Fanny
Farmer is pretty straight-forward. But, the 1894 "RECIPES TRIED AND TRUE.
COMPILED BY THE LADIES' AID SOCIETY OF THE FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, MARION,
OHIO." is a little tough as all the recipes are straight text.  Bv)=

Here's a recipe as presented, so you can see what I mean ...

TAPIOCA PUDDING, WITH APPLES. MRS. DR. FISHER.
Soak one teacup of tapioca and one teaspoon of salt in one and
one-half pints of cold water for five hours; keep in a warm place but
do not cook. Two hours before dinner, pare and core six large apples;
place them in a pudding dish; fill the cavities made by removing cores
with sugar and a little grated nutmeg, or lemon peel; add a cup of
water, and bake one hour, turning the apples to prevent them drying.
When quite soft, turn over them the tapioca. Bake one hour longer.
Serve with hard sauce of butter and sugar.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

      Title: Tapioca Pudding w/Apples
 Categories: Puddings, Fruits, Citrus, Sauces
      Yield: 6 servings

      1 c  Tapioca
      1 ts Salt
     24 oz Cold water
      6 lg Apples; peeled, cored
           Sugar
           Grated nutmeg
           +=AND/OR=+
           Lemon peel
      1 c  Water

MMMMM-----------------------HARD SAUCE------------------------------
    1/2 c  Butter
      2 c  Sugar
    1/4 c  Brandy or rum (opt) *

  * True hard sauce has booze in it. Otherwise it's just a 
  sweet sauce. I added in the proportion of hooch it needs
  as an option - not included in the original recipe. The
  quantities of ingredients were taken from my Grandmother's
  recipe for Hard Sauce to pour over date pudding.
