I do check my feet every morning.  Thankfully, I've yet to have problems with
them from the diabetes, but that IS something I should bring up to my primary
care provider when I see her in April is a consult to podiatry.  It is in my
Army medical records that I have pes planus (fallen arches) in my feet upon
being processed, so I could probably get seen for that pretty quickly.  I've
worn orthotics on and off in my life and am actually wearing some "soft"
orthotics now (Dr. Scholl's; $50 from Walgreens) that are wearing out after
nearly three years of use.

Yep, that's exactly what it is: a sit-down gummint job.  However, I am not
getting my hopes up with this application and am applying for several other
positions I've seen online at various places.  In fact, on the way home from
taking my wife to work this morning, the former gas station a block away from
my house (less than a five minute walk) is being "reborn" and it looks like
that business is hiring.  They have a phone number on the road sign, so I'll
toss my coat on, walk down there and get the number in a bit.  That would
actually be good with my upcoming school schedule if I could work evenings.

As for your medical transcribing business, yeah, you were a bit ahead of the
curve.  But at least you knew what the future was holding. :)

To keep this a little on-topic, I am going to raid the freezer (after I do the
dishes and clean the kitchen) to see what I'm going to make for dinner tonight
as Maura is working from 11 AM to 8 PM so I make sure she has dinner ready for
her by the time she gets home.  I guess I must be a rarity to be a husband that
cooks from what I am told by my friends on Facebook and other places.  I do
enjoy cooking.  I just hate having to clean up afterwards!

Just was looking through my MM archives and I think I might make this for
dinner but instead of the parmesan cheese I'll substitute Italian breadcrumbs
(seasoned breadcrumbs w/parmesan and other cheeses).  That looks like a recipe
I couldn't screw up if I tried. <G>

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

      Title: Spooned-Up Meat Loaf
 Categories: Cheese, Hamburger, Main dish, Meat loaf, Meat
      Yield: 6 Servings

      2 lb Lean Ground Beef
    1/2 c  Oats; Quick Cooking
    1/2 c  Dairy Sour Cream
    1/4 c  Parmesan Cheese; Grated
  1 1/2 oz Onion Soup Mix; 1 pk
    1/2 c  Water
      2 ea Eggs; Lg, Beaten

  Cook and stir the meat in a large skillet until the meat is brown.
  Drain off the excess fat.  Stir in the soup mix, oats and water.
  Cover and simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.  Stir in
  the sour cream and eggs.  Spread the mixture evenly in the skillet
  then sprinkle the cheese over the top.  Cover and simmer until set,
  about 5 minutes. Serve with catsup, if desired.
