Indestructible, workhorse, that was their reputation.
Mine, it was almost indestructible, too, but also
almost unusable for its intransigeant stiffness.

But I found a way!

Actually, I do recall seeing some typewriters with a
computer connector in back. Never used one that I remember.

And edible, too, Armillaria mellea. The Ukrainians, God
help them, call them pidpenky, but that has sort of become
a generic term for mushrooms in that language.

1/2 lb fresh mushrooms
1 lg onion, finely chopped
1 to 2 cloves garlic, minced
1 c beef consomme
2 pk dried beef broth, or more canned broth
1/4 c red wine (opt)
3 Tb flour
2 Tb melted butter
1 ts lemon juice

Clean mushrooms well, trim and chop.

Put mushrooms, onions, garlic, wine, and consomme in
large pot. Bring to a boil, simmer 1 hr. You may need
more liquid, if so, just add some more liquid broth,
or water and powdered broth.

Add lemon juice, stir.

Melt butter in microwave - stir flour in till smooth,
then stir slowly into mushrooms and bring to a boil,
stirring.

And that's it! If keeping warm, keep on low heat and
be sure to stir regularly so it doesn't stick to the
bottom of the pan. Add more liquid if necessary.

Notes: I used white button mushrooms in this recipe,
but it's also really good if you add a few of some
different types as well, like crimini and shiitake.
It really deepens the flavor. Give it a try!
