Sounds like. I am to be found, or so I am told, only on a
subsidiary page in a crowded elevator scene.

So is crazy, of course. I think everyone's rule of thumb
for old is "older than me," and everyone's rule of thumb
for crazy is "crazy enough that I notice it."

It's pretty up there, though.

When I pay $1000 a month for health insurance, I don't
expect a $60 co-pay for a single drug.

Sounds like the best option would be to make do with
an OTC formulation, increasing the dose accordingly.

And these are long skinnies with a deep score in the
middle, just crying out for such behavior. I wonder why
the drug companies seem to encourage this, because in
most ways they seem to be milking the customer as hard
as possible.

I've already sort of inured to the former, but even though
my hearing remains above average, it is not what it used to
be; so if my hearing goes, what then?

servings: 4

4 lg onions
2 garlic cloves
butter
4 shoulder lamb chops (6 to 8 oz each)
olive oil
s, p
stock or red wine
1 1/2 c rice
2 oz apricots
3 oz raisins
2 1/4 c stock
h - spices
cinnamon, powdered
turmeric, powdered
cardamom pods (whole or powdered)
cumin (whole or powdered)
cloves (whole or powdered)
h - garnish (optional)
tomato wedges
lemon wedges
chopped flat-leaf parsley

Mince one onion; slice the others thin.
Wilt separately in butter; set aside.

Mince garlic.

In the same pan, brown lamb chops in oil with
minced garlic. Put in an ovenproof casserole,
sprinkle with liquid, season, cover with sliced
onions. Bake, covered in foil, 1 hr at 350F or
until tender.

Dry-toast spices until fragrant. Set aside.

Meanwhile, saute rice in butter and/or oil. Add
stock and wilted onion mince; season with salt,
pepper, and spices, cover, and cook on the stove
or in the oven until liquid is absorbed, adding
fruit halfway through the cooking. Rice should
be al dente or a little softer.

Butter a casserole, transfer half the rice to
it, top with cooked lamb chops and cover with
the rest of the rice. Heat through and serve,
garnished as desired.
