I am ill-quipped for making that sort of bribe. Bv)=

I don't like to put tips on my plastic - for a number of reasons - many of
which I have enumerated here on previous occasions.

NB> I can imagine... I remember watching pinochle games when I was in

I learned pinochle before I was ten years old. It was my grandfather's
favourite card game. I learned it well enough that I was often asked to join
the adult game as partner to mt mother or my grandfather.

DD> It gets him talked about - almost like free advertising.

NB> As long as people aren't turned away by it... :)

I think Canuckistan has done away with pennies. I'm surprised that the U.S.
hasn't done so already.

As more are brought in versus the few who turn away - most of whom he probably
wouldn't want for customers in any event ...........

DD>> And his clerks have to know how to count change back to the customer

DD> They used to teach that in third grade when I went to school. Now - if
DD> the cash register doesn't tell the child running it how much change to

NB> Yeah, I know. I guess the teachers are too busy teaching to the test,
NB> that useful life skills like making change are lost in the shuffle...
NB> no time to teach that...

'twould indeed be nice if the schools would teach chirrun how to think instead
of how to memorise and spew back what they memorised.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

      Title: Penny's Sausage Gravy
 Categories: Five, Pork, Dairy
      Yield: 10 servings

      1 lb Hot bulk sausage
      8 tb Butter
    1/2 c All-purpose flour
      4 c Milk
           Coarse ground pepper & salt

Brown sausage in skillet; drain. Set aside. In saucepan,
melt butter over low heat. After completely melted, add
flour and mix in with spoon until no lumps show. Add milk
and turn heat to high, stirring constantly until it boils.
Grind fresh pepper over the sauce until you are happy with
  the amount.

Turn heat back down to medium-high, stirring constantly,
until desired thickness is achieved. Stir in sausage. Salt
  to taste.

  Serve over warm biscuits.

This gravy is great over biscuits and scrambled eggs, or
just over biscuits... or anywhere you might want gravy.

  Makes 10 servings
