Sometimes you just have to step back and admire (or be horrified at) the
dumbness of people. We used to watch Jay Leno a fair amount; he did this
segment every so often called "Jay Walking". He'd go out on the street
and ask random people questions about a theme such as the constitution,
discovery of America, or such like, common things that should be learned
in grade school social studies/history. Some of the answers were rather
appalling in their ignorance. Every so often, and it was usually pre
adolescent children, somebody had every answer right. Makes you wonder
what the country is (d)evolving into.

Steve's strokes have been thrombotic. He was not on the aspsirin in HI,
started it at some point and discontinued it after our move to Wake
Forest (after he started dealing with the VA).

She had been brought up with an exposure to a wider range of herbs and
spices so tried using them when she first got married. Eventually, tho,
she settled for basics--salt and pepper were the main ones, with just a
bit of the other 2 salts. (A side note--one time one of my sisters made
the sauce, I was doing something else in the kitchen and looked over to
see the ground beef white with the onion and garlic salt on it. That was
just as bad as Mom's small amounts.) For chili, she would use less than
a teaspoon of chili powder, not really enough to give it much of any
flavor.
