You were figuring that would almost have to be the case, given how
poorly he'd been eating on his own....  It would probably be harder to
get his diabetes under control than yours, anyway... since you'd at
least been eating reasonably healthily, and mostly only needed tweakings
and some knowledge of portion control...  And his has been full-blown
(and uncontrolled), without even needing the catalyst of meds to have it
appear... It's good that they are making some progress there.  :)  and
losing weight will help matters as well...  :)

When he gets to that point, he may be able to understand the reasoning,
and be reasonable about it... At this point he may be expecting to be
able to regain enough function to only need occasional or partial
assistance with some daily tasks...  :)

What's in the fridge now, except for frozen, probably needs tossing
anyway.... ;)  Possibly some of the pantry items, too...  It might be
something that he'd want to be in on, though, the restocking... also a
good learning experience, if someone knowledgeable takes him
shopping.... :)
