Hi Ruth,

>> So has mine been, all in all. My daughter always had a full head of
>> thick hair taking after Ron while my son took after me :)

> I'm glad both girls got thicker hair; mine has always been hard to do
> much of anything with. To get any sort of curl, I need a super strong
> heavy duty mega hold perm whereas they both have some natural curl.

Interesting.. for us it was kind of the opposite :) One year my daughter
wanted a perm so I tried it with that type perm... it took two packages to get
it to even give her "a" curl.. Her hair was so straight, and so thick..
meanwhile my hair is so much thinner than hers, I have to watch the timing for
such products carefully.

> Deborah actually looked somewhat like Shirley Temple for a while. (G)

Aw that's must have been so cute :) I bet you have some neat pictures :)

My brother has blond naturally curly hair (still to this day, though there's
some gray there now (g)).. I remember the pictures of him with long ringlets of
blond hair before they cut it :) When he was growing up my dad used to get so
upset with him because my brother refused to use that "greasy kid's hair stuff"
on his blond curly hair. And of course all 4 of my sisters and I looked at his
hair and said, "how did this happen??" Lol

>> I've never seen one :) Interesting that they exist :)

> Yes, and to have a good number of them in one area is surprising.

It would seem so. I saw some of them on google, they look incredible!

> I don't recall what ours was supposed to be temperature wise but I think
> precipitation was to be below normal. Hopefully more in the form of

I can understand that one.. snow is always preferable to me over ice storms :(

>And, I hope the school board
> had the sense to build more snow days into the calendar for this school
> year.

I guess that didn't happen last year? That's sad. Maybe budget constraints?

Temperature-wise we dropped down to the low 40's at night now, maybe 50's if
we're lucky during the day.. I guess it's a long time until summer, so I better
get used to it.. (vbg).

>> Should work well... you can keep the cuttings in a plastic bag until
>> you're ready to plant them in a pot with some rooting powder.

> OK, nice to know. I've enjoyed having fresh rosemary to use instead of
> the dry.

Yes, it is so nice having an abundance of fresh herbs. If I have them, I use
them. I checked today and at least I did freeze a bunch of baggies of Italian
and Greek oregano, lots of parsley, basil and thyme. Not quite the same as out
of the garden fresh but better than dry. I really liked the Greek oregano.. it
has a hint of lemon that is incredible. I used it in some chicken dishes, that
were great.

>> famous English historical setting. Now I can hear it when Ron and I
>> "go".. my daughter will probably say, "what am I supposed to do with
>> all these dishes!" Lol - Well, hopefully she can sell them to other
>> collectors :)

> We have 2 sets of dishes but a lot of books, computer, sewing and
> crafting, cooking, etc, etc stuff.

Yes, all that as well (grin) When Nancy was talking about the "boxes under the
window" I believe that was an overflow of books that we didn't want to put in
the basement but weren't ready yet to unpack. Who knows.. we had so much room
in Windsor and so much less space here in Ithaca (grin).

> But, we will be able to move a lot of
> things "as is" and put them in their new location right away.

That's always nice. Before this move, that's always the way it was for us.
Moving to a smaller place is a little insane sometimes I've learned :)

>> > Our pumpkin is cooked, now I just have to make the pie. Went to
>> quilting > instead, today.

>> That's neat and probably a nice break... I have to see if I can

> I got the pie made today; Steve has already enjoyed one piece.

Nice :)

>> be useable again which is nice to use for the grandboy's clothes. I
>> started a denim jacket for Ron this summer that I have to finish soon
>> as well.

> Nice, to be able to do that.

The only hard thing is getting that room which is a dining room to be "the
sewing room" when I'm working on it.. You know, have to move this to put that
there, etc. etc. etc.. argh... it is what it is. At least I have the room.

>> > I could also take some to church--enough folks there that would
>> > appreciate it.

>> Yes, I bet they would.

> We did that with avocadoes in HI every other year. (G)

How cool :)

>> That works as well - if he did cover them, he probably got out there
>> really early and removed the covers. These days I don't worry about
>> it so much. :)

> Got to let some things slide. (G)

Yep :)

Take care,
Janis
