There is a lot of commonality of naming without direct affiliation I suspect.
OTOH, I am pretty sure that there are just a few Chinese Restaurant Supply
places that supply most of the sauces, meats, veg, etc. to small Chinese
restaurants and/or buffets. Say, one that handles anything on the Eastern
seaboard, another that handles anything west of Pennsylvania to the Rockies and
a third that takes care of anything west of the continental divide.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06
 
      Title: Continental Lemon Sauce
 Categories: Five, Sauces, Citrus
      Yield: 1 2/3 cups
 
      1 c  Mayonnaise
      2 lg Eggs
      3 tb Lemon Juice
    1/2 ts Salt
    1/2 ts Dry mustard; (Colman's)
 
  In a small saucepan with a wire whisk, beat all the
  ingredients until smooth. Stirring constantly, cook over
  medium-low heat until thick (DO NOT BOIL). Serve over
  vegetables, seafood, poached eggs, or try it instead of
  Hollandaise sauce.
  
  Makes 1 2/3 cups.
