Might be. Christmas of course is a traditional day for
Jewish people to go out to eat - it's so stereotypical
it's become a joke.

We were on an island. But New England storms are about as
tradition-bound as New England people and tend to track
in two general paths - rolling along the coast, which takes
the brunt, or going somewhat inland so the coast itself
gets nothing, while a bit inland, from say Hartford up
through the Pike and beyond, may get feet and feet of snow.

I really don't care so much about the fuss - good meat is
worth any amount of fuss.

I read good breading and good raisins, and I thought, hey,
I wasn't making Christmas pudding here.

Again, was it 10x as good as battery turkey? Maybe.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

  Title: Turkey Chilli
 Categories: Emeril, Chilli, Poultry, yecch
  Yield: 4 Servings

  2 tb Vegetable oil
1/2 lb Ground turkey
1/2 c  Chopped onion
  1 tb Chopped garlic
  2 tb Tomato paste
  3 c  Chicken broth or water
  1 c  Black beans, cooked (about 2
   To 2 1/2 cups)
1/2 c  Chopped tomatoes
  1 ts Chilli powder
  1 ts Ground cumin
  1 ts Ground coriander
  1 1/2 ts Salt
1/2 ts Black pepper

  In a soup pot heat oil over medium heat. Add turkey and cook,
  stirring and breaking up pieces with a wooden spoon, 3 min, or
  until meat is no longer pink. Add onion and cook, stirring, 2
  min. Add garlic and tomato paste and cook, stirring 2 min.
  Stir in remaining ingredients and bring to a slow boil. Reduce heat
  to simmering and cook 40 min, until sauce reduces slightly and
  flavors are well blended. Adjust seasonings with salt, pepper and
  Creole seasoning before serving.

  Yield: 4 to 6 servings
