======================
Hi Nancy,

 NB> NB>> another 35 great-grands, and counting...

RH> My folks have 6 biological great grands, plus the 2 from Nick.

NB> As I said, much smaller... ;) Much less chance to be reusing
 NB> names... ;)

We reused one name (my first, Deborah's middle). Rachel used her dad and
FIL's name for their son, name of one of David's great aunt's for oldest
daughter's first name. Deborah used my dad's first name as middle name
for her younger son so a few are being carried on.

NB> RH>> But he had a good number of cousins to play with. (G)
NB> NB>> Or to babysit for... or to hardly know... the youngest being
NB> NB>> more than 30 years younger than he is... :)

RH> Dad babysat for his nieces & nephews while he was still in school but
RH> we didn't live anywhere's near them for them to babysit us.

NB> That was the case for many of his younger cousins... He only babysat
NB> for some of Lydia's older kids... after that, he was off to college
NB> and then away to Arizona. He didn't even meet many of the cousins
NB> until he finally came back east for Liz's wedding, they having been
NB> born in the meantime... :)

But, he met them, finally. They probably just thought he was another
grown up, nobody they could play with. (G)

 NB> RH>>>> grandmother's silver
NB> RH>> I think we'll probably let it all go to one or the other. I'm
NB> not RH>> sure how many place settings are in the set.
NB> NB>> If there were enough place settings it might make splitting it
NB> NB>> feasible, but I can see where one might not want to, if that
NB> would NB>> make it not so useable... :)

RH> There's probably a dozen place settings, not enough for us to split
RH> and have enough for the family.

NB> So eventually you'll just have to figure out who wants it more... :)

Yes, at some point we will. Hopefully later, but probably sooner than
we'd like.

NB> NB>>> Of course, that's why y'all put things into electronic format,
NB> NB>>> instead of just making sure that paper copies are stored
 NB> NB>>> properly... (G)
NB> RH>> I still like to keep paper copies of a number of them. (G)
NB> NB>> Easier to use, after all... ;)

RH> And if they get splatted with cooking grease or sauce or whatever,
RH> they can be tossed and a new copy printed.

 NB> That, too... :)

Helps, having it clean enough to read. (G)

RH> I usually clip a recipe to the range hood; it's easy to follow
RH> as I'm working and I don't have to find an easily accessable
RH> place for the cook book.

NB> Seems sensible... :) I'm rarely following a recipe that closely...
 NB> ;)

Some I do, especially if it's something I've never made before. Others I
do, just to keep track of what goes into it. Still others I ignore any
print version of and wing it. (G)

Catch you later,
Ruth
