Don't think I saw any Alton Brown, maybe one or two Iron Chef, but I
have seen plenty of Emeril, too... :)

We had fresh onions growing up, but never fresh garlic... That last I've
learned more about over the years... most of it more recently... :)

Cookies are easy enough to make, whether from a mix, tube or scratch...
We always had some boughten and some made...  Cakes were usually a mix,
but not very common...  I did some experimenting with scratch cakes
after I got married, but it wasn't something we'd have that often,
either.... I did a lot more scratch cooking and baking when the kid was
still home, and while we had extra people living with us... made sense
both economically and healthwise... and I had the time and energy for it
then...  ;)
