About normal for a family with several children. We did the same, in
varying degrees, between the 5 of us.

I can read music and pick out a line but playing 2 hands is beyond me.
Never had formal lessons and can only stretch 7 notes half comfortably
anyway. OTOH, sister below me had lessons as an adult (when her older
son took lessons) but plays very mechanically.

Same here. Other things we've gotten stricter about, like looking for
specific ingredients and not buying if the food in question has them.

Also getting a good recipe helps. Thanks to my MIL, I got a good cole
slaw one. She pointed me to another one that's popular in their
community in FL; we tried it but went back to the original.
