Hi Nancy,

RH> Do you have any siblings that rely on just pre done, heat and serve
RH> type meals? I don't think my brother Bill cooked a meal from scratch
 RH> his entire life.

NB> No, I don't think so... my brothers cook for themselves when need be,
NB> even when they've had wives to cook for them... and all my sisters
NB> cook at least basic stuff, some of them pretty fancy stuff... :)

Both my brothers are unmarried so pretty much had to cook for
themselves. One taught himself to do so decently, the other never did.

NB> RH>> comfortably anyway. OTOH, sister below me had lessons as an
NB> adult RH>> (when her older son took lessons) but plays very
 NB> mechanically.
NB> NB>> Part of that could have been her teacher... Learning piano is
NB> more NB>> than just the notes on the page... but some teachers don't
 NB> really NB>> get that...

RH> And, I've noticed some people with very scientific minds play the
RH> piano very mechanically. One lady in our church in HI was like that
RH> until the music director got her to loosen up somewhat. She also got
RH> into quilting and had to learn how to "shake things up a bit" with
 RH> colors & fabrics.

NB> Sometimes learning how to relax into the music (or the quilting) isn't
NB> as intuitive as some of us find it... ;) Precision doesn't
NB> necessarily mean that things can't have some creativity and give as
 NB> well... :)

No, but I've known some who make the piano sound very mechanical. With
quilting, an eye for what has to be done or can be done to liven up a
boring quil is useful. Sometimes just getting a second opinion will
provide the impetus to do more or less or re-arrainge blocks in a better
setting.

NB> question has them. NB>> Other than apple, we've not gone quite that
NB> far... We do tend to not NB>> buy things that have too many things in
NB> it that we aren't comfortable NB>> with, though...

RH> If it has a list of chemicals for flavoring and preserving a mile
RH> long, it goes back on the shelf.

NB> Most of those don't even come off the shelf in the first place... ;)

Some of them look interesting so I'll pull them off for a closer look.
Then I start reading and find out it's not what we want to eat.

NB> RH>> And looking at a late July, early August time frame this year.
NB> NB>> We'll have to see how things play out as we get closer... :)

RH> Yes, maybe we can combine it with a trip to Olindo's when we go
 RH> into Rochester.

NB> Possibly you could stay a night with us, and combine with visiting our
 NB> church, as well... :)

That would be fun. Think Richard could take it?

 NB> RH>> ... It's as easy as 3.1415926535897932384626433832795028841!
 NB> NB>> Yup, quite... (G)

 RH> Blueberry, pecan or chocolate?

NB> Probably pecan... or something even more labor-intensive... ;)

Chocolate silk from scratch?

Catch you later,
