When I was running the print shop for Illinois Department of Agriculture one of
my guys had finally managed to get the motorcycle of his dreams only to have it
stolen within six weeks. When the adjuster came by our work he was using my
office and telling Alan that he'd only get what the adjuster could find another
bike of the same spec for. No matter where it popped up. He was busily implying
that my guy had arranged to disappear his scoot to get out of the payments.

Finally I'd had more than plenty of this arsefardel and his mouth and went into
my office. When he started to object I reminded him that he was in *MY* office.
Then I told him that no one cared how little or how much the replacement cost.
What he would do would be to make his best deal, bring the motorcycle to Alan
and arrange the paperwork so that everything was legal.

He started to sull up on me so I picked up the phone and called a friend I had
known for a long time who just happened to be the Assistant Commissioner of
Insurance for the State of Illinois. When I explained why I was calling he
asked to speak to the adjuster. I don't know what he said - but the
conversation was fairly brief. And my guy got his new motorcycle in about two
days.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal Master (tm) v8.06

      Title: Irish Scallop Pie
Categories: Seafood, Dairy, Mushrooms, Wine, Potatoes
      Yield: 6 servings

      8 lg Scallops *
    300 ml Milk
           Salt & pepper
      2 tb Butter
      1 tb Flour
    1/2 lb Mushrooms; sliced
      4 tb Sweet white wine
      1 lb Fresh mashed potatoes

  * Or 4 scallops and an equal amount of any white fish. Or
  more scallops, if you like.

Clean the scallops and cut in half, then simmer in the
milk for 15 minutes. Strain, reserving the liquid. Heat 1
tablespoon of the butter and stir in the flour, cook for
about a minute, stirring, then add the milk gradually,
stirring all the time to avoid lumps. Season with salt and
pepper, add the sliced mushrooms and simmer for about 10
minutes longer; then add the sherry or wine and finally
  the scallops.

When hot, transfer to an oven-proof dish and cover with
mashed potatoes, making sure they cover the fish right to
the edges. Dot with the remaining butter and bake in a
moderate oven, 350øF/175øC, for 20-30 minutes, or until
  the top is turning brown.

  Makes 6 servings
