And by this point, I know what I can pick and chose from to allow me to
enjoy something, yet not have unreasonably high bg readings the next
day. If you want to go for root beer floats, I'll have a diet soda and
maybe a small scoop of ice cream. If you want to pig out on pasta, I'll
have a small portion, with sides heavy on the protein and raw, low carb
veggies. If you want to pork out at a bbq joint, I'm all in, as long as
I can control the amount of sauce I put (or not) on my meat.

If you need them, use them. If that's the case, DON'T hang on to them
for next year.

Often enough, at times but he knows that I know the spiel so I can shut
it down or tune it out as the case may be.

This had some fat, but not excessive amounts.

Try to "sanitise" the language so folks aren't as put off by the truth
of how bad they're eating?

No, but at least they didn't object.

I mentioned it to Steve but he didn't want to bother with it. I figure
next time I'll be sure we get them. Lately at C-F-A, I've been ordering
the chicken strips, asking for some pickles on the side. One place gave
me a small cup like the small cole slaw (or carrot raisin salad used to
come in) or other small sides, full of pickles. The last C-F-A we ate at
gave me an even smaller container, with just 3 small pickles in it. A
good compromise would be the larger container, with maybe half a dozen
fair sized pickle slices in it.
