The meatballs are very definitely Hawaiian. I was questioning (somewhat
facetiously) the recipe posted by MLoo.

Swedish-style meatballs tend to be a bit bland for my taste - even with a nice
gravy. I prefer *my* meatballs (going under the theory that it's a damned poor
cook who can't suit his own tastes). I've two recipesI have developed - one
spicy and one not-so-zippy. Both depend on Italian sausage. I've also included
my recipe for Italian sausage -- just in case you can't find something that
suits.

Oh, just a note - If I post a recipe with "Uncle Dirty Dave's Archives" it's
just a recipe  I have collected. However, if it says "Uncle Dirty Dave's
Kitchen" that means that I have actually made the recipe. A further note - even
if it says "Uncle Dirty Dave's Kitchen" that does not mean I actually approve
of the recipe - which will usually be noted in the text, often with suggestions
to fix things that my taster perceives as wrong.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06
 
      Title: Dirty Dave's Spicy Meatballs
 Categories: Five, Pork, Cheese, Breads, Vegetables
      Yield: 24 Meatballs
 
      2 lb (1 kg) hot Italian sausage
    1/2 c  Bread crumbs
    1/2 c  Thin sliced green onions
      4 tb Grated Parmesan or Asiago
      2 lg Eggs
 
  In medium bowl, add sausage, bread crumbs, onions, cheese
  and egg. Mix thoroughly. Shape into 24 meatballs.
  
  Cook over med-low heat, turning frequently, until brown.
  
  Serves 6 with pasta and red gravy

      Title: Italian Sausage (Medium Hot)
 Categories: Pork, Herbs, Sausages, Preserving, Chilies
      Yield: 5 Pounds
 
  2 1/2 tb Salt
      1 c  Ice cold water
    1/2 tb Fennel seeds
      1 ts Black pepper
    1/2 tb Sugar
  1 1/2 ts Crushed dried chilies; more
           - to taste
    1/2 ts Caraway seeds
    1/2 tb Coriander seeds
      5 lb (2.25 kg) pork; not too lean
 
  Grind the pork meat. Combine all the spices, using an
  R2D2 coffee grinder to crush the seeds.
  
  Mix all ingredients. Put into medium casings or form
  in patties.
  
  Cook on a hot grill.
