Hi Nancy,

Yes, and her face is so different that Lola's. Lulu had a very broad nose,
more like some of the male cats I've known. Weird :) Lola just looks swanky
haha

He sounds like he was an interestingly colored cat, that's for sure. And a neat
chance for you folks to enjoy a kitty :)

Well, he did have a great mustache (laugh)

Yes, no doubt. They still stop off in Matt's room upstairs now and again as if
to see if there is anything there.. even though we moved his room downstairs
when Toby was so very sick weeks ago.

> They're lab mixes aren't they... :)
That is what the rescue people told us, and as little pups they both did look
like full breed labs, well except for Indie's markings on his head... Indie had
the biggest feet I'd ever seen in a pup... he did mostly grow into them ending
up the same height as Toby.. Sophie didn't though.. which I'm just as glad of.
Who needs two 'lummoxes' hogging the bottom of the bed (grin).
> Did you ever find out what else is
> in them...?
I asked my vet once what he thought was in their "family"... I figured he'd
have an idea.. he burst out in a guffaw and said "AMERICAN MUTT!!" :)
So I guess their bloodlines were crisscrossed every which way for more than a
few generations. I know the area down south they were rescued from had a lot
of dog-fighting rings... And I know they use Labs in those rings (along with
pit bulls and others) because Labs don't fight. Really sad stuff. Thankfully
both our dogs take after the lab side mostly so that's a good thing. I've also
read that rescue dogs are always very insecure when owners leave the house. I
thought that was interesting as well. Matt says they always cry themselves to
sleep when we go shopping, etc.. silly dogs :(
> Yeah, Sophie's probably thinking, gotta humor mommy, even
> if it is beneath my dignity... ;)
Yes, I think so :) It's funny to watch her watch Indie and I play sometimes.
Like she'd like to join in, but rubber balls aren't her thing :) I should see
if I can find an indestrutible rubber toy for her. Maybe she'd enjoy that. :)

Yes :) I guess she has 6 kids now :) It's like the house I grew up in.. hehe

Sure, I probably might have mentioned more then but the conversation kept

That's pretty common isn't it.. and neat. :)
We love eating this and used to eat it all the time in Korean restaurants in
Louiville, KY :)

2 tsp. olive oil
1 tsp. chili flakes
3 tsp. sesame oil
salt and pepper , to taste
sesame seeds for topping
steamed rice
Directions
1. Radish: Peel the radish and julienne into matchsticks. Top with 2 teaspoons

water. Drain the excess water and mix with 1 teaspoon garlic, 1/2 teaspoon
chili flakes, and 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil.
2. Soy bean sprouts: Bring a medium pot of water to a boil with 2 teaspoons
salt. Blanch the beansprouts, drain and shock in ice-cold water. Toss with 1/2
teaspoon minced garlic, 1 teaspoon sesame oil, and 1/2 teaspoon sesame seeds.
3. Spinach: Blanch the spinach in the same pot of water as the bean sprouts for
20-30 seconds. Drain and shock the spinach in ice cold water. Squeeze out all
of the excess water and cut into strips. Toss with 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic,
1 teaspoon sesame oil, and 1/2 teaspoon sesame seeds.
4. Zucchinis: Cut the zucchinis in half-moons. Generously sprinkle salt over
sliced zucchinis and set aside for 10 - 15 minutes, they will release water.
Squeeze out excess liquid from zucchini. Add 1/2 clove minced garlic and 1/2
teaspoon sesame oil. Saute in a lightly oiled skillet for 1-2 minutes over
medium high heat.
5. Carrots: Julienne the carrots into matchsticks. Sprinkle with salt, let sit
for 10 minutes and then rinse.
6. Shitake Mushrooms: Slice the mushrooms thinly and saute with 1 teaspoon of
vegetable oil. Add 2 teaspoons soy sauce and 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil.
7. Prepare whole grain rice. Reserve
8. Cook eggs sunny-side up. They should have liquid yellows, don't overcook.
