Hi Nancy,

>> He sounds like he was an interestingly colored cat, that's for sure.
>> And a neat chance for you folks to enjoy a kitty :)

I too can remember a time (pretty short) when we had no pets. Shocking Lol..
it wasn't for long though from what I can remember.

>>> hehe There was definitely orange in there or very reddish brown.
>> Sounds distinguished... ;)

>> Well, he did have a great mustache (laugh)

> Made quite the picture, I'd guess... :)

Yes, that mustache looked like perfectly trimmed thin mustache.

>> Yes, no doubt. They still stop off in Matt's room upstairs now and

>> his room downstairs when Toby was so very sick weeks ago.

> Gotta check to make sure it's all ok, after all... :)

And nothing hiding in the closet.. I mean it could happen (vbg)

>> They're lab mixes aren't they... :)

>> Who needs two 'lummoxes' hogging
>> the bottom of the bed (grin).

> One is bad enough, to be sure... ;)

That would be heaven it were just one (g).. once in a while though Sophie gets
fed up with vying for space at the bottom with mr. lummox and jumps down onto
her doggie bed. My feet are happy :)

>> I asked my vet once what he thought was in their "family"... I figured

> IOW, too many possibilities to be sure... or to list... ;)

Sounded like it haha

No doubt.. but her belly is also spotched like a beagle :) The vet that saw
her last really liked her a lot and said she obviously has major mothering
tendencies. Not sure what the vet meant, but she didn't have time that day to
explain. I have had vets come here since with 3 dogs the cost wasn't so
different. Now with two I may make the trip to the vet's office. We'll see
when they come due for shots, etc.

>> mostly so that's a good thing. I've also read that rescue dogs are

> Matt... ;)

Doubt it.. they are going to be 4 this summer I believe :) But who knows. I've
been surprised before. :)

>> sometimes. Like she'd like to join in, but rubber balls aren't her
>> thing :) I should see if I can find an indestrutible rubber toy for
>> her. Maybe she'd enjoy that. :)

> Maybe... part of the joy would be in finding out how fast she could
> destroy it... (G)

haha.. well, we talked about it and we all think she might like a soft doll..
have to find something at the pet store, or I'll make her one.

>> everything... ;) Is the baby fairly brand-new...?
>> Yes :) I guess she has 6 kids now :) It's like the house I grew up
>> in.. hehe

> yeah... sounds like mine, too... :)

Big families were norm back then... and so neat to grow up in. And lots of
cousins to play with (grin)

>> At 5 and 3, they're
>> probably old enough to comprehend death...

>> Sure, I probably might have mentioned more then but the conversation
>> kept changng if you know what I mean haha

> Yeah... I do know what you mean... kids that age also tend to be little
> magpies... ;)

Yes indeed :) :)

>> great-gramma died, he was explaining everything to his cousins, then 8
>> and 5 (who had been deemed too young to attend the earlier occasion),
>> quite matter-of-factly...

>> That's pretty common isn't it.. and neat. :)

> Yup, way too common that people try to hide reality from their kids...
> And we thought it quite neat that our son could fill in that gap... I
> think their parents may have learned something that day, too... :)

That's good...

>> We love eating this and used to eat it all the time in Korean
>> restaurants in Louiville, KY :)
>> ===Korean Bibimbaap Recipe===

> Our favorite place used to have a great bibimbap... too bad it is long
> gone now... and our current favorite Korean place has a respectible
> one... ;) One of my favorite Korean meals... :)

Ours as well!! Well, sometimes I go for beef short ribs (pounded thin, split,
marinated and sauteed).

>> Geez, now I want to make this for dinner tonight.. :)

> And did you...? Or didn't you have the ingredients available... ;)

I did! And I had everything... but looking over that recipe I posted, it didn't
include any beef IIRC. I'll have to check it again, but that's what I'm
remembering from that post I made. I included marinated steak that I sauteed.
The steak is marinated in soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic and green onions for 20
minutes then sauteed.

Now I'll have to dig up that beef short ribs recipe.. I have it here in one of
my korean cook books. It is so good. I'll find it later :)

Take care,
Janis
