Well, there is a percentage below which the practiced
drunkard processes the alcohol faster than it can be
ingested. Perhaps in his youth, 11.5 was as water. For
some, anything at all is an intoxicant. I'm somewhere
in the middle on this - I can still get drunk on beer
if I drink it fast enough. Or I can get sick on Miller.

Sometimes a little fuzz can be a comfort, though.
That's the reason for ardent spirits.

Not so far - the compromise is uneasy.

I can now "get" why these huge bodies of mythology
have been inspired by things that you almost can see
out of the corner of your eye.

Mister B's

servings: 6

1 c butter
1 c oil
1 Tb minced garlic
several bay leaves, crushed
1 Tb dried rosemary leaves, crushed
1 Tb paprika
1 ts black pepper
1 ts lemon juice
a little oregano
a little basil
a little salt
a little cayenne pepper
3 lb whole shrimp, fresh

Melt butter and oil. Add spices, heat to boiling, lower
heat, and simmer 10 min. Remember this is mostly oil,
so it'll be hot. Use a heavy ovenproof pan.

Remove from heat and let stand 30 min. Add shrimp
(heads, antennae, shells and all). Cook 6-8 min over
med heat, just until the shrimp turn pink. Then put
the pan in a 450F oven and bake for 10 min. Serve in
a wide bowl or plate with lots of the sauce, with crusty
French bread on the side and a few bottles of white wine.
