=============================
Hi Nancy,

 NB> NB>> I tend to prefer brick-and-mortar stores, generally, when/if I'm
 NB> ready

RH> I do too, and that's partly how we found out once that a credit card
RH> was compromised. Some rather high charges were put on for the on line
RH> version of a store I shop in person. There were also high charges for
RH> a sporting goods store, nothing either of us spends much time or money
 RH> in.

NB> That sort of thing, while annoying, is easily spotted and corrected...
NB> clearly not your typical behaviour... Did you find out how the card
 NB> was compromised...?

We pretty much figured it was at a car rental place in Las Vegas. It was
the only place Steve used that credit card on that trip and the rental
clerk did take it out of our sight at one point. Hmmmmmmmmm.........

NB> NB>> a quick check of the Yellow Pages does show an Irish Imports
NB> store NB>> tucked into the Greece Ridge complex, so that may be where
 NB> they
 NB> NB>> moved to... ;)

RH> Have to check them out--how's your supply of Irish foods?

 NB> Sufficient, indubitably... ;)

Mine is too; the only thing I might go right now for is some Irish
Breakfast Tea but even that's not vital as our tea selection is quite
well stocked yet.

NB> where I'm headed, and NB>> what sorts of alternate routes there might
 NB> be... :)

RH> Heading up to see my aunts in NJ, the most direct way is via some toll
RH> bridges and roads so we use them. Then to get up to NY from NJ, we
RH> generally hit the Thruway for a bit. If we time it right, we can have
RH> supper in Kingston, after getting off the Thruway.

NB> When I was in NYC in April for my brother's wedding, I did have toll
NB> tunnels or bridges anywhere in or out of the area... unavoidably...
NB> But then, once out, I took the Taconic State Parkway, along the east
NB> side of the River... not a toll road... I was headed from there to
 NB> Pittsfield
NB> MA, so there was no need to cross the river again... but if I had
NB> needed to, I think that the toll bridges across the Hudson in that
 NB> area are
NB> charged only crossing to the east... If one went all the way to
NB> Albany, that bridge is free... but then one might need to take part of
 NB> the
 NB> Thruway... ;)

I'm not sure how the Taconic Parkway runs as we come into NY from NJ
when we go up that way. We go directly onto the Thruway from the road
(forget the number) we're on in NJ. Planning on heading that way next
month.

NB> series of RH>> projects, some large, some small, that divert his mind
NB> from thinking RH>> about things like the coconut--unless he's
NB> thinking about it while RH>> working on something else. (G)
 NB> NB>> You just never know... :)

RH> Nope--he replaced the shades in the kitchen with mini blinds over the
RH> last couple of days. A set on the door, a single window and then the
RH> bay window with 2 smaller flanking side windows.

NB> I suppose the coconut will keep for a while, anyway.... ;)

It will, maybe he will do something with it tomorrow. Right now he's
finshing up the front bathroom ceiling--it is de-popcorned and ready for
painting.

NB> NB>> And hopefully the weather will cooperate... :)

RH> Yes, but we decided not to make sauce this year. I need to get a super
RH> deal on tomatoes in quantity to make it worth my time and effort, plus
RH> I've got other projects that are of a higher priority at present.

NB> One can always reconsider when the higher priority projects are
NB> done... if there are still tomatoes available... and the weather
 NB> continues to
 NB> cooperate... ;)

We'll see; they're getting scarcer at the farmer's market. I'd have to
get a very good price on a good amount to make the sauce worth while.

NB> NB>> Good reasons to focus elsewhere for the moment... :) Santa
NB> wants his NB>> Halloween shirt well in advance of the season...? Or
NB> is he hoping for NB>> more than one...? :)

RH> He only gave me the fabric for one halloween shirt. Actual
 RH> construction will start Monday.

NB> He will have it well in advance of the season, then... :)

I'm hoping to have it done by later this week or early next week.

NB> RH>> I pulled a couple of chicken leq quarters out of the freezer
NB> today to RH>> marinade Brooks style, then grill on Saturday.
NB> NB>> Nice start for your meal for Saturday... :)

RH> They were good; Steve indirect grilled them. Sides were brown rice and
RH> fresh broccoli, dessert was mint chocolate chip ice cream.

 NB> Yum... :)

Exactly!

NB> RH>> My favorite time of year--mid September to late October.
NB> NB>> I think my favorite is spring... but this is a close second...
 NB> :)

RH> Too much pollen in the air for spring to be my favorite. (G)

NB> You have less trouble with the fall pollens, then...?

Much less, and no pine pollen.

NB> going for a few more weeks; RH>> I don't think we'll have many green
NB> ones to do much of anything with RH>> when the season ends.
NB> NB>> Depends on how long the season hangs on... :)

RH> Hopefully until late October or early November.

NB> So you think there won't be much more fruit actually setting this
NB> season...? So what there is will hopefully have time to ripen
 NB> fully...?

We're still getting blossoms tho don't know how many will turn into
tomatoes. If frost threatens while they're green, I can pick them and
let them ripen inside, same as my Dad used to (actually, us kids would
have to do the picking).

Catch you later,
Ruth
