NB>> Korean version thereof, anyway... ;) Sounds like neither one quite
NB>> came up to your expectations...

RH> Overall, I'd say good, but not great. Next time Steve plans to have
RH> the squid again & I'll get my usual beef bulgogi.

Sometimes the tried and true works the best after all.... and then,
again, sometimes, one finds a new favorite to add to the list... ;)

RH>> They do offer a seafood pancake but it was $12. so we didn't get it.
NB>> I think it runs about that at Seoul House, at least for the full-size
NB>> one... but then, that's big enough to be worth it, too.... :)

RH> That's probably what this was; I was hoping they would have an
RH> appetiser sized one we could split.

What we've done, when we want the pancake, is to split that, and then
also split a soup... and not get anything else... :) Or to keep costs
down (or when we aren't as hungry) to get the appetiser-sized one... I
understand that there wasn't one at your place, though...

RH>> The box had a small tossed salad, a man du dumpling,
RH>> a couple pieces of battered/fried some sort of winter squash, a big
RH>> scoop of rice, a folded egg thing like we saw at Fu's and a small
RH>> piece of sushi, not nearly as good as Fu's.
NB>> Well, of course not... (G) Besides, I've been told on good authority
NB>> that one shouldn't order Japanese foods in a Korean restaurant... ;)

RH> The sushi thing came as part of the box--it was close to falling apart
RH> (not rolled tight enough) when I picked it up.

No, not good sushi... I think I'd just skip that sort of dealie
altogether... ;)

NB>> Was the egg thing any good...?
RH> Not bad, light, multiple layers. Since we didn't have Fu's, we had no
RH> good gague of what to expect. It had some red and green (pepper?)
RH> flecks in it but seemed a bit mild, no peppery taste so maybe it was
 RH> something else.

I thought that Steve had some of Fu's egg (tomago)... certainly there
was some in the FutoMaki roll, but there were lots of other tastes in
that as well.. :) Sounds like what you had at the Korean place might
have been something different, though...

RH>> We stopped in the local Gander Mountain sporting goods store on
RH>> the way home; they have a small metal pan, similar to what Fu
RH>> described he was looking for to cook his egg thing in. Steve
RH>> took a couple of pictures of it; he'll probably attach them to
 RH>> an e-mail to you.
NB>> Sounds interesting.. :) Tell Steve not to make the email too big,
NB>> though... over a half meg and I'll likely have problems... Might be
NB>> better to send to Richard, same as mine except rjbackus instead of
NB>> backus... ;) He can handle the bigger emails a lot easier... :)

RH> OK, I'll make sure he knows to send the pictures to Richard. Probably
RH> easier to see on the computer than the phone.

True...
