For me it was always a very simple direct means to an end,
not really a chore.

Unless one can afford hired help or to eat out all the time,
it's a necessity.

But everyone wants to just sit back and chill after eating.
What one wants and what one gets, not always the same thing.
This way minimizes the amount of extra time taken and encourages
mindful cooking and use of resources; of course it may mean a
return to more simple meals, but that is not necessarily a bad
thing.

I am much stricter about knives than most people I know.
The old rationale for not putting these in the dishwasher
was two-pronged - one, the blades were said to be dulled
by the process; this is apparently not true any more if
it ever was. Two, most knives are multi-piece, and water
gets in between parts and starts to cause trouble; this
is the reason I still hand wash knives unless they are
clearly molded as a unit.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

      Title: Easy Lemon Cheesecake
 Categories: Kaz, Cakes, Khg, Cheesecakes
      Yield: 4 Servings

  1 1/2 c  Graham cracker crumbs
      2 tb Sugar
      2 tb Butter; melted
      8 oz Pkg. cream cheese; softened
     21 oz Can Comstock lemon pie
           -filling

  In small bowl, combine crumbs, sugar and butter; press into 8 inch
  square pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 5 minutes. Chill. In medium bowl,
  beat cheese until fluffy.  Add pie filling gradually, beating well
  after each addition. Spread over crust.  Chill 4-6 hours or until
  firm. Refrigerate any leftovers.

  Makes 9 servings.
