Unless you've got a super sharp knife, you may have to partially thaw
the scrapple before slicing and refreezing (OK to do so as long as there
are some ice crystals in it) your scrapple. We've brought it down from
PA, starting as frozen but semi thawed by the time we got home. The last
pan was fresh, made the day before.

We usually do it as a side for eggs instead of bacon or sausage. One of
my PA Dutch cook books suggested serving it with molasses; I'd rather
have the maple syrup. Tried it once with honey but maple syrup beats
that (IMO) for taste as well.

It was maybe a couple of inches longer than a 9x5 loaf pan from the
looks of it. Maybe it was the same size but a quick look gave me the
impression it was slightly longer than the standard bread pan. The
scrapple was turned out on to butcher paper, then wrapped in more paper
before being passed over the counter to us.
