Sounds like some of the degenerate stock-car racers I used to know. They'd
spend the groceries and half the rent on their race cars and leave the wife
needing shoes and the baby needing diapers. They somehow thought that they
could win enough at local racing to support both their family and their racing
habit. FEH!!! I knew, going in that it was just a hobby. That if I won every
race I entered that I'd not make expenses. I also realised that Roger Penske
(who has done well in racing) didn't have a dime of his own money in *ANY* of
his racing ventures. It was all sponsorship shekels.

So, I treat my lottery stuff as a hobby. I told someone once that if I hit the
Little Lotto which has a typical payout of U$100,000 that I'd not quit my job
nor go nuts. Just live more comfortably for a bit. At the same time - if I hit
one of the life-changer jackpots (yeah, right) I'd probably be retired from a
regular gig. And after I bought Georgia a nice house and a decent car - just
fritter a lot of it away.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

      Title: Neiman-Marcus Butter Cake
 Categories: Desserts, Cakes, Cheese
      Yield: 12 servings

 18 1/4 oz Box Pillsbury pudding-
           - included yellow cake mix
      4 lg Eggs
    1/2 c  Melted butter
      8 oz Cream cheese; room temp
      1 ts Vanilla extract
      1 lb Powdered sugar

  A nice cake to serve guests. If using a glass baking dish,
  reduce baking temperature to 325øF/163øC and keep the same
  baking time.

  Preheat oven to 350øF/175øC.

  Grease a 13" X 9" X 2" baking pan.

  Pour cake mix into mixing bowl.

  Mix in 1 slightly beaten egg and butter to a moist dough
  consistency.

  Press mixture evenly in baking pan.

  Using electric mixer, beat cream cheese, remaining eggs
  and vanilla together until creamy.

  Beat in sugar gradually, until smooth; this takes several
  minutes.

  Pour cream cheese mixture over dough in baking pan.
  
  Bake 35 to 40 minutes.
  
  Watch carefully so base doesn't get too brown.

  The cheese mixture sinks into the center somewhat, leaving
  a firmer crust around the edges.
  
  Cut into squares to serve.

  Some cooks sprinkle powdered sugar or pecans over the top
  of the baked cake or garnish it with fresh strawberries.

  Makes 12 servings
