Many cats are a bit "unique".   Bv)=

Even outdoor grass is not allowed to mature as a general rule. It wants 
to "go to seed" as that is part of its genetic encoding. And Mr. 
Homeowner keeps chopping it off a couple inches above the roots. If he 
let it mature to its life-cycle the neighbours or the neighbourhood 
association would pitch a fit.

I did that one time. As it happened my next-door was a retired A.R. type 
who kept his lawn like a putting green. And the sight of my bluegrass 
looking shaggy as it grew toward seed stage drove him nuts. He called 
the health department on me and they threatened to fine me using the 
hook that the joints of the grass could collect water and serve as 
breeding grounds for mosquitos. 

I told the minion who visited my place that the mosquito premise was an 
extreme stretch and that I would cut the grass *after* it had seeded 
out. A couple days later I was awakened by noise in the alley and saw 
two employees of Public Health unloading a brush-hog from a pickup 
truck. Upon inquiry I was informed that they had an order to mow my lot.
Which was also going to cost my a hundred bucks.

As it happened the back yard was well shaded by mature oak and maple 
trees and had very little grass but a lot of wild woods violets and 
other small flowers. So, I told them to go ahead but if they harmed so 
much as one flower I'd have their arses in court along with whoever 
issued the fiat to mow my yard.

They loaded up and left.

After the grass had re-seeded itself I did go mow it. Pointing the 
discharge chute of the mower toward the A.R. neighbour's putting green 
lawn. They had left town for a few days and by the time they returned 
the clippings (a nice windrow + scatters) had cured and browned. 

When they returned the neighbour knocked on my door and began berating 
me - I told him, "You wanted it mowed. It's mowed." Then I looked him 
square in the eye and told him that old saw "Eff with the bull you'll 
get the horn. Every time."

Next he put up a solid privacy fence from kerb to alley between our 
houses. And y'know, someone dropped a dime to the zoning people and he 
had to pay a hefty fine plus paying to have the fence put into 
compliance with the zoning regulations.   Bv)=

I had a Jack LaLanne Power Juicer - briefly. It soon went to Sojourn 
House's (Battered Women's Shelter) thrift shop as a donation.  Bv)=

This is one of the few formal recipes for juices that you can do (no 
apples) and so can I (no banananananas). Surprising how many formal 
juice recipes have one or the other in them.

      Yield: 1 servings

      5 lg Carrots; tops too, if there
      2 lg Peeled oranges
      4    1/4-inch nub ginger
    1/2    Lemon; peeled

  Great for mornings.

  Using electric juice extractor, press all ingredients in
  the juicer. Whisk to combine.
