So we compromised and ate mostly in hotels: she had burgers
and omelets, and I had rather upscale versions of street
food - less atmospheric and gritty, but not much chance of
Tunku Abdul Rahman's revenge, either. Plus this was mostly
free because of her exalted status with the Starwood people.

We ended up not going to any of these! But, yes, they are
quite pricey (pricy, I don't know). Pampas has opened a
slightly cheaper and less formal outlet down the street,
and I was sort of aiming for that, but we didn't find it
for various reasons.

If she didn't look as if she was always taking offense,
I'd be less unenthusiastic about exploring things. She
really looks pretty fierce, and the way she deals with
the underlings of the world makes one cringe. I grew up
with a dragon lady; that's not my first choice of
companionship in my dotage.

Well, after some minor flirtation Jean shut me right down, so
that's that. I think she was in cahoots with her sister - bait
and witch sort of thing.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.02

      Title: WITCHES BREW
 Categories: Beverages, Kooknet
      Yield: 8 servings

      1 qt Apple juice
  1 1/2 c  Pineapple juice, unsweetened
      2 tb Honey
      2 tb Lemon juice
      3 x  Cinnamon sticks

  Mix all ingredients together in a saucepan.  Heat over low heat until
  ready to serve.  Remove cinnamon sticks before serving.
