Two nights ago, she was fascinated by my eating crickets and
silkworms, the former tasting vaguely crustacean, the latter
like beans. She did indicate that if it were a question of
kissing me, she might feel otherwise.

Turns out we got a driver who took us to the former and said
there wasn't time to take us to the latter, so the issue was
solved automatically.

We didn't.

The island, uninhabited, is kind of extraterritorial and
claimed by none of the three countries. We ate at a
restaurant from which I could have in my younger days
thrown a baseball to it; but we didn't do anything about it.

Returned from there. Didn't chew gum or do graffiti in Singapore
and didn't insult the royal family in Thailand. No problems.
Of course, neither did you.

My guts are uncertain mostly because I work them hard.
Lately I've been careful, for example drinking a few
drops of Thai water the first day, then brushing my
teeth, then on the third day having half a glass of it.
Plus eating raw fruit and vegetables that have been
washed in the local stuff. Of course, Le Meridien ought
to provide pretty potable stuff.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v7.07

      Title: Eggs in Red Pepper Sauce - Sambal Goreng Telor
 Categories: Laos, Eggs, Appetizers
   Servings: 44

      1 tb Chopped Onion
      1    Clove Of Garlic
           Butter For Frying
      1 c  Coconut Milk
      1 c  Stock
      1    Salt To Taste
      1 ts Crushed Red Pepper
    1/2 ts Paprika
    1/2 ts Laos Powder If Available
      4    Hard Boiled Eggs

  Saute the chopped onion and garlic in the butter.  Add the other
  ingredients (except the eggs) and bring to the boil, stirring occasionally.
  Add the eggs and continue cooking and stirring for 3 minutes. Remove from
  the heat and halve the eggs, then serve hot.
