Thursday we got maybe another inch (give or take) on top of what came
down on Wednesday. Warmed up to the 50s today, melting a fair amount but
still more to go. There's a picture, one viral, of a car on fire down in
Raleigh in the midst of the storm--I guess the enginge overheated or
something of that sort in the parking lot known as Glenwood Ave.

Meanwhile, the roads being what they are, Steve still not driving and
him redoing the kitchen counter tops, we went out for a (late) lunch in
old WF. We went to an Italian restaurant we'd been to before--Steve had
the zuppa a la pesce & I had the shrimp scampi. He had a good sized
plate of seafood in a garlic tomato sauce. (One clam didn't open but he
got a replacement.) I had the shrimp scampi in a lemon/garlic/white wine
butter & parsley sauce. It had about 8 shirmp but I think maybe a
quarter cup of chopped garlic in it--loaded with garlic, IOW. Both of us
will be keeping vampires away for several days with all the garlic we
had. (G) Meal came with a brownie & ice cream for dessert so we had the
ice cream and took the brownie home to enjoy tomorrow.
