Not only does that happen with women, there are men who haven't a clue as well.

OTH, my two cousins (one older, one younger than me), learned to fix them while
working on the family farm. I think the machine shed was almost half as big as
the barn, which held 100 milking cows. At least four stalls to work on cars,
pickups, farm tractors and equipment.

I'm what's known as a motorhead. Which means that I'm very interested and quite
knowledable and involved in the automotive world. I was this way when I was a
youngster of 5 or 6. My playtime life revolved around make believe cars, etc. I
built a Briggs & Stratten (sp) powered car when I was 12. Briggs & Stratten
are/were lawn mower engines. I even got a ticket for driving it on the street,
both unlicensed then.

True.

>I am not perfect but i change the oil every 2,000 liles or 6 months,

You should be changing it every 3000 miles or 90 days, which ever comes first.
It's not good for the engine to leave conventional oil in the engine for longer
than that, as the acids built up by the combustion blowby will contaminate it.

> whichever comes first. Filter annually or every other oil change. If in

I use Mobil One (synthetic) in my cars. I change the oil & filter every 4000
miles. Even thought the manufacturer claims the oil is good for 8000 miles, I'd
rather not have contaminated oil in my cars. My 1988 Camaro, with 150,000 miles
on it, has never had any major problems with the engine or trans. It's still on
the original clutch, although I've replaced the radiator and water pump twice.
Neither of them were coroded, they just gave up the ghost, as the radiator
tanks are made of plastic with aluminum cores and both water pumps leaked at
the seal in the shaft. New brakes, tires and one set of spark plugs later, it
still gets 25mpg and drives like it did when I bought it.

I wish the factory paint on that car hadn't faded to dust nearly 6 years ago,
it'd still look like new. Aftermarket paint shops never do a good job...

Roy
